Ingredient of the Week: HPNOTIQ

First I will say that I have been seriously slacking on my blog. I apologize for that, I promise I will start posting more often! At minimum I will post once a week the "Ingredient of the Week" this can range anywhere from drinks to spices to foods.

This week I chose HPNOTIQ as the Ingredient of the Week.

HPNOTIQ is a blue liqueur made from vodka, cognac and tropical fruit juices. HPNOTIQ has also released a pink version called Harmonie.

My first encounter with Hpnotiq was in my 9th grade, 1st period computer class. It was one of those rare classes where they seemed to put all the "cool kids" and "trouble makers" in one class. Ever had a class like that? I loved it, it was actually the only class I went to everyday. Anyways, Michelle, a friend of mine, brought in several of the little mini bottles, the ones that maybe have 5 oz in them. She gave me one and told me to try it. So of course I did, it tasted like kool-aid to me with a little burn. At the time I didn't know that all liquor burns. LOL. I was new to alcohol, and didn't want to seem like a chump so I took the rest of the bottle as a shot. BIG MISTAKE. Even though it was only a couple of oz, I was not a drinker at all, and I had not ate breakfast. I didn't vomit (thank goodness, that would have been embarrassing!) but I definitely felt the effects. I skipped the rest of the day and went to sleep. And that was my introduction to alcohol. I still like Hpnotiq, in fact there is a bottle in my freezer right now.
Below are some recipes that use HPNOTIQ. They are all drinks, I have never ran across any food recipes that use HPNOTIQ. :-( If you have any send me a copy to try!

Relaxing Weekend

This weekend was a welcome rest from the go, go, go that my week consists of. We didn't work on the nightclub at all. Whoo Hoo! I am really starting to see why everyone doesn't want to own a business, cause it's HARD! But eventually, I will see the fruits of my labor. Even though I didn't get any real work done today was sort of productive, I did some housework.
Sometimes I really wish there were more hours in the day because there are so many things I wish I had more time for. My scrapbooking and genealogy are two of those things. I love to work on my scrapbooks and genealogy, unfortunately hobbies come in at the bottom of the list of things that need to be done everyday. *sad face* Speaking of hobbies has anyone ever noticed that there is a TV show for everything except crafts? I really wish they would make some shows about scrapbooking, stamping, jewelry making, sewing, cross stitching, crochet, knitting or some other type of crafting. If you need a host, I'd be happy to fill that position. Just saying.
Does anyone have any good reads they recommend? I love historical fiction and mystery fiction! But I'm not discriminating, I will read just about anything.
Good night,
Zanette

So Busy

I've been seriously slumping on my blog. Sorry! I've bben busting my butt to open this nightclub so I haven't had any time to scrapbook or work on my geneaogy but I plan to start puting my life on a schedule so I will alot time for my hobbies. On a better note I am finally making progress in the start up of our club. We have a name, theme, floor plan, concept, and we are working on getting the liquor license, employers id number, zoning permit, and health approval. So we are planing to open by Nov. Now I must go make a schedule. Good night! Zanette

4th of July weekend

This weekend was a lot of fun. Saturday we stayed in Shakira stayed the night with us. Than on Sunday we went to church, where Mrs. McCoy gave the service. After the service we had a fantastic meal to celebrate the 4th of July and all the July birthdays. Than Nisha and I went shopping. I found sum earrings and bracelets that matched my dress. Plus, DJ stayed the night with grandma. Monday, we went to St. Pete for a family get together. It was alot of fun and we ate a fabulous meal.
