Synopsis Sunday week 19

School
     This week I began Layout and Composition 1 for Print. I am really enjoying the textbook. It is so informative and interesting. I love that it goes into the history of art. You know, I am a HUGE history fan. Of all the text books we have used so far, this is my favorite. Its not often you want to read a text book cover to cover. This is one of the rare cases that I do. Actually its the only case.

Family
     On Wednesday, Daidrain had an unexplainable injury. He woke up, with a bloody toe. It looked like he stubbed his toe than peeled the skin off. It was so bloody, and raw, and just down right gross. I actually considered taking him to the ER. I mean he doesn't even walk. What on Earth happened to his toe? He didn't seem at all phased by it, not even when I was cleaning it. He could stand up no issue,  just a bloody toe and it was all raw. We have no idea what could have happened. He was in his play pin, sleeping. than he had a bloody toe. Mind boggling.
     This week DJ's eating habits have hit an extreme. Getting him to eat is always a chore, but now the boy wont even eat things he likes, like chicken nuggets. He has been throwing his food behind the refrigerator. Than when we found that out we started to watch a little closer and check places close by where he eats for possible food. Well, Wednesday, He says he ate his chicken. Okay, so I go to check his plate and there's no bones. Hmm. So I asked him, "where's the bones?" "oh I threw them away" okay fine, so I look at the garbage. No bones. hmm... "DJ, I don't see any bones in here." "Oh they fell to the bottom." Okay that could happen. not even a hour later, Dennis moves the living room couch our from the wall, looking for something. Guess what was there. The chicken DJ suposedly ate than threw away the bones. My son, threw 2 chicken drumettes  behind the couch. Ugh, is eating food you like really that big of a deal? WHY? Why would you do that?

Synopsis Sunday week 18

School
     This week Keiser University is on Spring break. I still don't know what my final grade is in my Photoshop class.its really starting to stress me out. I tend to worry uncontrollably when I really want to do well on something but don't know where I stand. It's something I really need to work on.

Family
     DJ has been really focused on boxing training. He is developing a good form,  he really seems to be a natural. Most importantly, he really seems to enjoy himself.
     Daidrian has reached that stage where hes into everything! He grabs at anything and everything within reach. I love it because DJ and Zan' Drea never really got like that. Daidrian is really nothing like his brother and sister personality wise.
     I took Zan' Drea fro her first mani/pedi at a salon in out local mall on Wednesday. She LOVED it. I let her pick her own color , she picked the brightest pink (Hot Bubble Gum Pink) they had.

Fight Night
     Dennis and I hosted a fight night for the Mayweather vs Guerrero event. Although it was fun, it was exhausting. I got off work at midnight, than returned for another 8 hr shift at 9, got off work ran to Walmart, cooked, prepared the seating, than finally sat down at drafting table to scrap while I watched the under cards. The main event was good. Mayweather actually apologized for not delivering a knock out. His excuse was that he hurt his right hand, and he was seriously apologetic about it. LOL! Mayweather had no reason to apologize, he delivered a entertaining fight.

Synopsis Sunday Week 16

School
     Last week I had fun with creating a magazine cover. This week was not as fun... I was assigned to recreate a movie poster, and to illustrate how the font of my choice speaks to me. You can read about those on my other blog, ramblingsofadesignstudent.blogspot.com.

Family
     We are doing good. We are beginning the kids in extra curricular activities. DJ chose boxing and Zan' Drea chose dress up...which we are assuming means she want to do something that allows her to dress up? We are looking into modeling. We will see how that goes. She doesn't like to listen so that may not be the activity for her.  If not we will find one better suited for her.
     I never realized how expensive boxing is. DJ is too young for a boxing gym to take him, so Dennis agreed to work with him until he is old enough for real training.
     Daidrian is becoming allot more independent. Which is awesome. He will crawl around and go play by himself with no issues. He doesn't get into anything besides the toy box, which is fine.  :)

Reading
     I am currently reading the 4th book in the House of Night series by P.C. and Kristen Cast.  I finished the first three over the past couple weeks and I am really enjoying the series. Look for a post soon on books 1-5 of the House of Night series.

Scrap Cave
     I was so excited to receive my desks on Friday that I have spent all my spare time putting together what I refer to as my scrap cave. Its not really a cave, heck its not even a room, more of a corner. But is all mine!!! Now that my work area is up and running, its time to get some crafting in. Yay!

Synopsis Sunday Week 11, 12 & 13

I had so much going on at once, that I didn't get a chance to post my Synopsis Sundays. So I decided to post them all now.


School
      I had a really great idea for one of my projects. I spent 4 hours creating a really detailed face for my Zanette's Got A Big Head illustration. Than the next day when I sat down to finish it, it was gone. I guess i didn't save it, right? Idk. I was so upset, I almost cried. I didn't have time to do such a detailed face again, so I had to settle for not so detailed.
     Than for my next project, we pulled business names out of a hat to create logos for. I got a really hard one, Bent's Schwinn Cycling & Fitness. At first I thought it was a gym, which would have gave me more options. Than I realized it's a bike shop. Which dramatically narrowed my options. Than I realized that I misread the instructions, instead of one logo, it was three! I had one amazing logo, than two last minute iffy ones.  :)
     Next, we were tasked to create a medical illustration for a pediatric office and a story book cover. I created a poster on DNA Fingerprinting. I created a children's story book cover for Daidrian, the Sleepy Turtle.
     Lastly, we created our own font, I named mine Pink Tie Affair. Also we were tasked to illustrate one of the 7 deadly sins. I chose Lust.

Family
     DJ and Zan' Drea stayed the weekend with their TiTi (Dennis's sister Nisha), from Friday evening to Sunday evening. They had a blast as they always do, and returned to a new home.
     Daidrian has been attempting to walk. YAY!! He will be 1 in April.  DJ didn't walk until 13 months and Zan' Drea until 15 months. I'm pretty excited.

Moving
     We got the keys to our new place on Friday, 03/15/2013, moved in on Saturday. the moving process did not go smoothly by any means. The fact that we had our stuff in a storage unit that clearly was not sealed tightly, as the storage placed said it would be, caused mold on allot of items. :/ than we found out that our washer was broken because it was dropped in the moving process. So we had to get a new one. Than on top of that, my car blew 2 tires. Oh and I got sick. Needless to say that was the longest 3 weeks ever. But on the up side, we are all moved in, have 2 new tires and a new washer. :)

Synopsis Sunday Week 10

Blogger has been giving me error messages all day, I'm not sure whats going on. Hopefully it will be fixed soon. Its safe to say if your reading this, than its probably fixed. Which is a good sign. :)

School
This week in class we had 2 projects instead of the usual two. I recreated an illustration by Chip Wass as well as created a slinky box. I had fun with the projects especially the illustration by Chip Wass.

Family
The kids are starting to recover from their colds. DJ stayed the night with his cousin on Friday so he could attend a birthday dinner for my sister in law. I couldn't attend due to work. :(

Moving
We move in 6 days, get the keys in 5. I'm so excited!! We have friends and family helping us move that's why we aren't moving until that Saturday.

Synopsis Sunday Week 9 2013

 

 

School
     This was the last week of Introduction to Marketing and Self Promotion. In class we focused on branding ourselves  and making it stick. I revamped my social media with my logo and I'm loving it. :) This was my favorite project so far. We took our finals on Thursday also, I got an 92.

Family
     All three kids are sick this week :( DJ was the first to get sick, I was really hoping to keep it contained but DJ doesn't seem to understand the concept of covering his mouth when he coughs.

Goals
     This week I was on top of making moves toward my goals until Friday when my desire for sleep got the best of me. Still pretty happy with the week, though.

Moving
     We had to change out moving plans because the apartment complex we were moving to kept changing things. Which is sooo annoying. So we are no longer moving to that complex we found another apartment complex that we like better. Only down fall is we had to delay moving by 2 weeks.

Synopsis Sunday Week 8

Week of  17 Feb 2013 - 23 Feb 2013

School
     This week in school we completed our presentations on our projects from week 2 and 3. Which was our Renegade Cakes Project and Brewz Crewz Poster. I do not do well with public speaking or criticism. I get extremely nerves, which causes me to talk a million words per minute. Than taking criticism in person is very hard for me because I feel like I need to defend my actions or view point. This is something I desperately need improvement on, so i was quite surprised I took most of the criticism fairly well. :) The morning class which my husband, Dennis, is in, did a Harlem Shake video. They have all the fun!!! :( Here's The Keiser Shake:

Family
      We are noticing that DJ is finally starting to get some weight on him. We really struggle with that buoy and eating. He has the most will power i have ever seen. And I'm not talking about just in a child, I mean he has the most will power I've ever seen in anyone.
     Zan' Drea is still determined to not use the potty. She is quick to say she needs to be changed though.
     Daidrian is getting cuter and cuter as he grows. He's currently playing with is feet while I type this.

Other
     We are planning to move the 1st week of March, as long as everything continues as it is supposed to. I'm so excited.

Synopsis Sunday - week 7

I decided to change things up a bit with my week in reviews, the current style of a review of each day was just not working for me, it was too much a responsibility each day. I didn't do too much of intrest on many days due to work and. I still keep a daily record of things in my planner since I have a day per 2 pages style planner, which has plenty of space for that. I am going to make this more of a week in review in a general sense. With that change I am renaming it this post to Synopsis Sunday.

Week of 10 February through 16 February 2013

This week I really wanted to start dinner more often since I work an odd schedule and its hard sometimes. I wouldn't say I was productive in that since I only cooked twice this week and ate frozen foods the rest of the time. :( I will work on that more in the coming weeks.

In school this week we designed a logo and business cards for Renegade Cakes. I completed this project rather fast. I'm definitely starting to get the hand of the systems we use. The projects are not so frustrating and more enjoyable. I posted me completed project on Zanette's School Life.

I read Divergent by Veronica Roth  in 2.5 days. Such a good book. I have a review coming soon.
